I hope you don’t mind. This time I’m taking a mini-break from my usual blog content. There’s a really good reason for this change to the viewing schedule: I’m really struggling to concentrate on writing something along ‘normal’ lines because there is something SO exciting happened yesterday!
I’m sure, by now, you’ve realised that the experiences I’ve had since I decided to adopt my son have been absolutely and completely life-changing. I know that this is the case for most parents. But, the feelings and emotions that this beautiful, badly-treated, boy have sparked in me have changed the direction of my life for the better.
If it hadn’t been for him, and the difficult situations that we found ourselves in as we struggled to build a family unit, I would never have heard of NVR, the incredible relationship transforming methodology, which has made our life together, as a family, possible.
I’ve tried, through this blog, my one-to-one coaching and the workshops I’ve been running to enable as many people to benefit from what I learned about how NVR can help unhappy children and families as possible. But, it hasn’t been enough. I haven’t been able to reach as many people, as quickly as I wanted to.
Well, that’s all about to change.
Because yesterday my book was published. That’s right, my BOOK!
Those are words I never thought I’d type, it still seems a bit surreal, but it really is happening.
I decided to write this book to get the whole story out there, I really want to help others by short-circuiting the learning curve that I went through so that they can fix their families much faster.
Adopting Solo is the full account of my journey as a single adopter. It’s about the realities of adopting solo, the highs and the lows and how I learnt to parent as I went. It’s been a rollercoaster ride but the joys of seeing my son start to flourish have been worth every moment.
The book is available to buy from Amazon here, I’d really love to hear what you think of it, and hope that you might share it with anyone you think could benefit from my experiences.
If you do enjoy it, please post a review on Amazon too, it would be wonderful to get this book into the hands of those who really need it, (and it won’t do my ego any harm either!)
Sorry for the self-indulgent post. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible, I promise.
